Joanne & Matthew

I'm Joanne. I'm 25 and I live in Greencroft with my wonderful fiance Matt. I had lived in Quebec my whole life prior to this. I love my family and friends and they are the most important people in my life. I work at Durham University, and have done for the past 5 years. I love being with Matt, music, cats and food!

Matt is 28 and a junior school teacher in Tanfield Lea. He is a wonderful person, extremely kind and very romantic. He is a very talented guitarist and plays rhythm and lead guitar in a band called Tripwire. He loves music, basketball and watching the footie!

We were introduced by our mutual friend Paul in 2006.

Matt and Paul were both members of Tripwire and Paul and I went to school together from the age of 4.

Me and a few friends bumped into Paul and the rest of the guys in the Coach and Eight, whilst out celebrating my birthday. I don't think I made a great impression...

I attended many Tripwire gigs, to support Paul but secretly so I could admire Matt from afar!!
I classed Matt as a friend for quite a while - we'd see each other on nights out and text each other a lot - until finally one day we decided to go on a date, and the rest as they say is history!

Matt asked me move in with him in August 2007, and living together is wonderful.

Matt is such a romantic person - he really does treat me like a princess. Enjoying his half term holidays while I was at work, he planned the whole night - he made a romantic meal for me arriving home from work - candles, flowers, even new wine glasses!! After the main course, he told me he had dessert and came back with a bowl - inside the bowl was a ring box - at this point he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I was so overcome I forgot to answer him for several minutes!!
